Books I've Read in 2018 #61-64

Hey, everyone! I posted this video a while back, but was so busy that I forgot to make a blog post. Oops! It's that of year again. The sweet and anxiety inducing time of college finals.

THE BOOKS:
30834957 36048449
393727 35959740
Love Story by Karen Kingsbury- 4.5 stars This was a sweet romance story. I preferred the Baxter family story as opposed to the main storyline, but it was still really sentimental and pulled at my heart strings.
It's All About the Duke- Amelia Grey- 2 stars This is a lackluster historical romance that just didn't hit the spot for me. It had the potential to be good because the plot has a great concept, but it BOMBED. Check out my review here.
Against Forgetting edited by Carolyn Forche'- 3.25 stars This is a massive poetry anthology that spans through multiple wars and genocides. The poems are from people who have witnessed war and have been affected by it. Check out my review here.
Circe by Madeline Miller- 4.25 stars This book has heart. It is a humanizing look on Circe instead of the usual villainous route that so much literature takes. I wanted to love it, but I was a little underwhelmed by the story overall.

Recommend the Most:
Love Story because I just really loved the Baxter story and it made my heart all happy. It was seriously one of the best romance stories and it felt real. The characters weren't fake or overdramatic like in so many romances.

  1. I'm not actually familiar with the story of Circe, but I've heard a lot of great things about this book. Sorry you were a bit underwhelmed! At least you had one great book.

    1. It's a good book, but it definitely wasn't as amazing as I thought it was going to be. I feel like I'd have to reread it to get the home the full impact of the text.
