2018 Releases That You Should Check Out!

Hey, everyone!! This is a follow-up post to my January-June 2018 Releases That You Should Check Out. I really liked laying out the books I read in 2018 that are new releases and I wanted to continue that for the second half of the year. This is the year that I've read the most new releases and I would like to continue the trend in 2019, but I won't pressure myself too much!

January 2018 Releases
No new books read in the last half of 2018!
February 2018 Releases
35542451
*Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are So You Can Become Who You Are Meant to Be by Rachel Hollis Released February 6th by Thomas Nelson 5 stars (audiobook)
I only read one more February release and I really enjoyed it! I think I liked this a lot more because I listened to Hollis narrate her story and that made me like it more. If I read the novel, I don't know if I'd like it nearly as much, but I still really recommend it.
March 2018 Releases
34964905
*The Sun Does Shine: How I Found Life and Freedom on Death Row by Anthony Ray Hinton Released March 27th by St. Martin's Press 5 stars (audiobook)
Again, I only picked up one March release in the latter half of the year and it was phenomenal. This book is a fantastic story and Hinton's life was a massive injustice steeped in hope. I'm so glad that I checked this one out because WOW.

April 2018 Releases
 35959740
*Circe by Madeline Miller Released April 10th by Little, Brown and Company 4.25 stars (audiobook)
All the books that I previously read that were April releases were not good books. So, it's nice to see a novel with so much acclaim be released in a publishing month that hadn't previously impressed me. This book isn't the best book, but it has a ton of heart and takes on Circe as a woman and not as a villain.

May 2018 Releases
31076583 36967019 36373481 36048449
A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas Released May 1st by Bloomsbury YA 3.25 stars (bought)
The Favorite Sister by Jessica Knoll Released May 15th by Simon & Schuster 2 stars DNF (audiobook)
The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware Released May 29th by Gallery/Scout Press 3 stars (audiobook)
It's All About the Duke by Amelia Grey Released May 29th by St. Martin's Paperbacks 2 stars
I'm glad that I picked up an ARC for the month, but it was an unimpressive one. All of these were not all that dazzling and ACOFAS was a major disappointment. This batch of May releases was not as fruitful as my first pickings, but a lot of these are very popular and have a huge audience.

June 2018 Releases
36381091
*The Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay Released June 26th by William Morrow 4.5 stars (audiobook)
This is my most recent 2018 release read and what a way to end the year. This one is phenomenal. Not perfect, but a wild ride filled with suspense, uncertainty, and fear. I am so happy that I picked this one up!

July 2018 Releases
None!

August 2018 Releases
37459366 36249634 36502041
Bellewether by Susanna Kearsley Released August 6th by Sourcebooks Landmark 2 stars
*Rust & Stardust by T. Greenwood Released August 7th by St. Martin's Press 5 stars
*Pieces of Her by Karin Slaughter Released August 21st by William Morrow 5 stars (audiobook)
I'm glad that I tackled two August ARCs in the latter half of the year. I was particularly blown away with Rust & Stardust and I continued the listening to all the Karin Slaughter that I could get my hands on. I'm so sad that I didn't enjoy my first Susanna Kearsley because I thought I was going to love her.

September 2018 Releases
36337550 38255342 37004950
The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton Released September 18th (US release) by Sourcebooks Landmark 2.25 stars
*The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White Released September 25th by Delacorte Press 5 stars (audiobook)
*Nightingale by Amy Lukavics Released September 25th by Harlequin Teen 3.5 stars
Two ARCs for the month of September! I would've read more if I wasn't slogging through Evelyn Hardcastle for multiple months. I'm happy to see that they were also kind of spooky reads because it's interesting to see that publishers publish the creepy novels before the month of October.

October 2018 Releases
37826494
Salt by Hannah Moskowitz Released October 30th by Chronicle Books 3.25 stars
This was my last 2018 ARC that I read. I should've read more, but I'm pretty okay with leaving off my year of  2018 publications through ARCs here. It was a quick read and I'm surprised that more people haven't picked it up.

November 2018 Releases
None!

December 2018 Releases
None!
