Vampire (and Other Paranormal Things) Queen Awards Part 1

Vampire (and Other Paranormal Things) Queen 2012 Awards

Can you believe 2012 is almost over?! We survived an apocalypse, an election, and a zombie apocalypse with bath salts! For me 2012 was a pretty good year in books! So let's kick this award thing off shall we?

Best Romance for an Adult Novel:
Dance with the Devil (Dark-Hunter, #4; Were-Hunter, #2)
Dance with the Devil by Sherrilyn Kenyon
This is my favorite Dark-Hunter novel and I absolutely adore Zarek. The romance between Zarek and Astrid was steamy and my favorite of the year.

Best Romance for a YA Novel:
Perfect Chemistry (Perfect Chemistry, #1)
Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles
I absolutely fell in love with this book and Alex Fuentes. He lit up my world and made me wish for a romance as sizzling as his and Brittney's.

Best Paranormal for a YA Novel:
Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1)
Daughter of  Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
Daughter of Smoke and Bone is hands down the best paranormal YA book I read this year. Karou and Akiva's story stole my heart and left me an emotional wreck. I can't wait until I finally get my hands on the sequel (whenever that will be).

Best Paranormal for an Adult Novel:
I'm having a hard time deciding on this one. It may seem easy but it's not.
Kiss of the Night (Dark-Hunter, #5)
Kiss of the Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Aside from Dance with the Devil this is my second favorite Dark-Hunter novel I read this year. Wulf and Cassandra's story is enthralling and definitely a creative one. An Appollite and a Dark Hunter? Who would've guessed?

That's all for Part 1!

  1. I love Perfect Chemistry and Daughter of Smoke and Bones! I've been too scared to read the second book of Daughter of Smoke and Bones though in fear that it will ruin the whole series.

    1. I have heard very many unsettling things about DoBaS, but I need the book anyway.

  2. Yes! We did survive a lot of things in 2012. Those Mayan calendars! We proved them wrong!

Also, I think I'll be picking up Daughter of Smoke and Bones soon! :)
