Vampire (and Other Paranormal Things) Queen Awards Part 2

Look at that pretty wolf!

Welcome to Part 2 of my awards ceremony! If you could call it that. No one gets an awards just a cover on my post. Feel the love! They should feel the love since most of these I loved but I hated some to.

Best Dystopia (YA):
The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1)
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I have only read a few dystopias this year (by a few I mean eight, two of them being adult books).  I'm not the biggest dystopia fan. I either love the novel or have  mixed feelings towards it. I think the Hunger Games is the best of my YA dystopian delve this year. I was late on picking this one up, but I really enjoyed it. I still haven't seen the movie. Mostly because I just can't seem to find the time even though I own it.

Best Dystopian for an Adult Novel:
Born of Silence (The League, #5)
Born of Silence by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Not very many people have read the League series and it's one of my favorite series. I fell in love with Kiara and Nykyrian, became obsessed with Syn and Shahara (mostly Syn he's delicious), suffered through the less passionate love of Syn and Shahara's son Devyn and Alix, and watched Shahara's brother, Caillen and Desideria on the love in a whirlwind of passion. I loved it all. I was wary about Darling's novel. Why? Because he had always been said to be gay and his summary obviously paired him with a female. This book is beautiful. It's amazing. Absolutely sad and excruciating. You haven't read pain until you've read about Darling. I love him and I love Zarya, even when I hated her because of the cruelty she inflicted. One of the most heart-wrenching tales I've ever read.

Best series for Adult Novels:
For this category I had to read at least three books in the series this year.
Dance with the Devil (Dark-Hunter, #4; Were-Hunter, #2)Kiss of the Night (Dark-Hunter, #5)Night Play (Dark-Hunter, #6; Were-Hunter, #3)Seize the Night (Dark-Hunter, #7)Unleash the Night (Dark-Hunter, #9; Were-Hunter, #4)Dark Side of the Moon (Dark-Hunter, #10; Were-Hunter, #5) I actually read very many fabulous Adult series this year, but Dark-Hunter series takes the cake for the overall slot. They will forever be my sexy men.

Best Series for YA Novels:
Same rules apply for YA as Adult.

The Van Alen Legacy (Blue Bloods, #4)Misguided Angel (Blue Bloods, #5)Lost in Time (Blue Bloods, #6)
I have yet to post reviews on here for these books. I just posted a review for Revelations (third book) though. I love the Blue Bloods series and I'm anxiously awaiting the final book!

Stay tuned for Part 3!

  1. Who would you recommend the blue blood series to, like if I like Cassandra Clare's books would I like the blue blood series? The covers are really nice though. I especially like the second one of the blue blood series!

    1. I think you would Dabin! I love the covers too. Even though it's quite different from Clare's works I would recommend giving them a shot!

  2. I don't think I'll read The Hunger Games. Dystopian doesn't appeal to me, either. Espeically books that I have already watched the movie XD. I've read Blue Bloods and didn't like from the third book on, but I'm glad you stuck to it, it's your kind of book. :)

    1. Thanks, Delaney! Dystopian is sometimes my thing! I just have to find the right book. I'm like that too. If I seen the movie I won't want to pick the book up as much.
