Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Night Pleasures (Dark-Hunter, #1)

Night Pleasures

First in the Dark-Hunter series

5 stars

Kyrian of Thrace is a two-thousand year old Dark-Hunter who works alone. After the last time he fell in love he refuses to let that happen again and turns away most women and only sees them as one-night stands. Then he wakes up handcuffed to Amanda Deveraux. Amanda is an accountant with a wacky family who only wants a normal life and nothing to do with the paranormal. But fate has another plan for Amanda and Kyrian whether they like it or not. After reading Fantasy Lover I immediately picked up this book and went on a SK binge (which I do a lot). This book was amazing. When I read who the book was about I was all like

It was smart idea to have Kyrian as the main character after reading about Julian. Sherrilyn Kenyon never disappoints me (I think I say that quite a lot, but I say it because I mean it). I love the mythology and world created. Daimons, Appolites, Dark-Hunters, Were-Hunters, or Dream-Hunters I love ‘em all. The mythology of these vampires is absolutely brilliant and when I read it I looked like this 'cause I was really confused,

Thumbs up Ms. Kenyon. The Weasley brothers approve of this awesomeness

It’s such an amazing book and a great start to a series (it’s not a short series either). The romance between Kyrian and Amanda was enjoyable and just fun to read.

The main female character is Amanda. Amanda longs for normalcy, which is kind of understandable. She’s surrounding by a family of witches/ fortune tellers and her twin sister is vampire hunter and all she wants is a normal life. I liked Amanda, she was a likeable heroine and I enjoyed her POVs.

Kick-Butt Heroine Scale: 7

The main male character is Kyrian. Kyrian had the worst luck when it came to love when he was alive so it makes sense he doesn’t want a relationship. I liked Kyrian, but not as much as Julian, but I still liked him. Kyrian’s POV got a little boring at times, but it usually picked right back up after a little snag.

Swoon Worthy Scale: 8

The Villain- I love the Daimons. They are absolutely amazing and ruthless.

Villain Scale: 9.5

Character Scale: 8

This book made my love for the Dark-Hunter books and I will be eternally grateful and happy that I discovered these books. That's all I have left to say on this book. I definitely recommend it.

Cover Thoughts: I like it, but I don’t love it. Kyrian looks annoyed… but he’s still cute.

I'm sorry I haven't written a blog post in a while (two days I think), but I've been really busy so I haven't had time to read or re-review the books I'm hoping to re-review. Sorry... I'll try to catch up this week, but in the next couple of weeks I'm going to be super busy so I might skip a couple of days of blogging.
