Born to Be BAD by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Born to Be BAD by Sherrilyn Kenyon
BAD Agency novellas
4 stars
Born to Be BAD is a collection of novellas about the BAD Agency.
The first story is ONE BAD NIGHT; the bureau believes that agent Jason Banks has sold them out to terrorists in Germany. Agent Samantha Winslow has to kidnap and find out the truth. Sam has always disliked Jason because of his “man-whore” tendencies, but she can’t deny her attraction to him. I liked One Bad Night, but it wasn’t my favorite of the novellas, but it was a nice read.
Kick-Butt Heroine Scale:7
Swoon Worthy Scale: 6.5
Character Scale: 7.5
The second story is BAD TO THE BONE; Marianne is a teacher who wins the Hideaway Heroine Sweepstakes and gets the chance to play the heroine from her favorite novel. A chance meeting with BAD agent Kyle Foster leaves her breathless and takes her on an adventure she’ll never forget. This one was my favorite of the novellas and I thought it was a fun read.
Kick-Butt Heroine Scale: 6.5
Swoon Worthy Scale: 8
Character Scale: 8.5
The third story is CAPTIVATED BY YOU; BAD agent Rhea goes undercover as a dominatrix to capture a terrorist and agent “Ace” Krux, a man that ignites both hatred and desire, is her training partner. This one was probably my least favorite. I don’t know what it was, but it was just something about the novella that I didn’t like.
Kick-Butt Heroine Scale: 6
Swoon Worthy Scale: 5
Character Scale: 5.5
I’m glad I got to get a taste of something besides paranormal romance, but I wasn’t blown away like I hoped to be. Maybe I set to high expectations because Kenyon’s other books are amazing.
Cover Thoughts: I like the cover and the color of the background is pretty.
