Born of Fire by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Born of Fire by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Second in The League series
5 stars
Syn’s father was the most psychotic killer in the Ichidian Universe. He was constantly punished as a child because of his genes. Syn is a skilled tech-thief and he’s constantly being hunted by governments and League assassins. He has hidden one tiny micro-chip that could destroy his life if it were found. Now that he’s an assassin and one of the Sentella’s founding members, he kills anyone who gets in his way. Shahara Dagan is the best bounty hunter in the universe. When she signs Syn’s death contract to save her sister, Tessa, she goes after him. Not realizing who Syn really is and what he has done for her family and that he’s a close family friend that has helped her family more than she can count on her hands she starts to realize that she may have bit off more than she can chew. Aside from the undeniable attraction between them she has to find away to protect her family and she’ll do whatever it takes. I love this book so much. It is definitely one of my all time favorites. Syn and Shahara are both kick-ass characters and there is never a dull moment between them. The writing as always sucked me and had me begging to find out more.
The main female character is Shahara. Shahara is an older sister that constantly worries about her younger brother and sisters and I can totally relate to that because I constantly worry about my little sister. Shahara is strong and she could totally kick some ass. I liked Shahara a lot more than I liked Kiara, but they are still some of my favorite League women.
Kick-Butt Heroine Scale: 9.5
The main male character is Syn. OMG I love Syn. Syn totally brings out my inner fangirl.
I had liked Syn since the first time we met him in Born of Night. I feel so bad for him. His life was so unfair, just like Nykyrian’s. I don’t know what it is about these tortured heroes in the League novels but I love them.
Swoon Worthy Scale: 10
The Villain- My lips are sealed.
Villain Scale: 8
Character Scale: 9.5
The League series has conquered yet again in pure awesomeness. I love these books and they’ll always have a special place in my heart.
Cover Thoughts: Shahara looks kick-ass like always. I always seem to like the League covers.
